From Hot Wax and Jalepeno to the infamous Scotch Bonnet, Plants4Presents Chilli plants are delivered already laden with a crop of tasty chillis ready for cooking. Chillis are normally treated as annuals by gardeners but these plants are grown especially for Christmas in our Sussex Nursery and with a little care they can fruit on a sunny windowsill right through the winter.

As well as fiery chillis, Plants4Presents Christmas Collection also features unusual festive offerings such as fruiting mandarin trees (£30) and decorated Christmas bay trees (£26) as well as more traditional plant gifts including hyacinths, poinsettias and cyclamen baskets (from £19). There’s a selection of herbs to delight the cook, and foliage plants, grapevines and ornamental indoor trees to interest the discerning gardener.

Spoil your Mum this Mother’s Day with fabulous flowering climbers and grafted grapevines from Plants4Presents.

Dazzle Mum’s senses with scented Spanish Jasmine and beautiful creamy yellow Early Sensation clematis (£22) delivered in flower bud to provide an impressive display for several weeks. Great gifts to bring cheer in the early spring, these plants can be planted out in the garden and trained up a wall or trellis once they have finished flowering.

Or why not send your mum her very own grape vine from just £19? Our popular Dorset grown grape vines are 3-4 year old grafted plants delivered in leaf bud. You can choose from a range of indoor and outdoor, dessert and wine making varieties complete with full-colour picture labels and growing instructions. So why not show you care with a Chardonnay, Muscat, Pinot Noir, Gamay or even Rosé vine and let her grow her own grapes for years to come?

Vines do increasingly well in our warmer summers and can be grown outdoors with great success in Southern and sheltered areas of the UK. To ensure a heavy crop year in year out, choose a sunny sheltered spot against a wall or trellis but keep the roots cool and damp. Vines for Mother’s Day will be sent in 3L pots and should provide their first crop of tasty grapes in the autumn.

Looking for something a little more unusual? Send a pineapple plant (£24) with real ripening fruit this Mother’s Day. These tropical plants do surprisingly well indoors in the UK and are delivered with a small fruit that will slowly colour up as the days get longer. Once the fruit is harvested these spiky bromeliads make great foliage plants and will even do well outside during the summer months.

Plants4Presents specialise in sending plants as gifts and your plant will be hand picked, gift wrapped and boxed at our Nursery in Sussex to ensure it arrives in perfect condition on the day. All our plants come with a choice of pot covers and baskets to complete the gift and you can add your own message to be handwritten in one of our selection of full size greeting cards.

We send our plants by post and courier all over the UK and prices start from just £17 plus £6.50 delivery. As well as our popular climbers we also have a large range of fruiting lemon, orange and citrus trees, spring planters, culinary herbs, indoor roses, olives and bay trees.

Plants4Presents proud finalists in the Startup Awards 2006

The prestigious event organised by Crimson Business Awards and sponsored by Natwest was held on Friday October 20th. With stiff competition from all of the UK, Plants4Presents were delighted to get in to the final round in the Silver Fox category. Founder Isobel Rae attended the lunch and ceremonies at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington and met many other interesting and growing businesses.

The Judges were impressed with Plants4Presents strong customer service ethic, testimonials and rapid growth in such a short period of trading. After a busy year including a move to Sussex and the refurbishment of our new plant nursery Plants4Presents were really pleased to have all their hard work recognised at such a well established event.

Plants4Presents grow into Sussex

Since it’s early beginnings in 2004 Plants4Presents has grown steadily and by Mother’s day 2006 we found our small offices simply overrun by plants, plants on desks, plants on the floor and plants on every available windowsill - something just had to be done! After scouring the whole of the South East we finally came across the perfect spot nestled in the sussex countryside with more than enough space to house and pack our plants. Plants4Presents are now the proud owner of 2.3 acres of computerised glass houses and offices and we will be using this extra space to extend our range of plants over the coming months and introduce a range of larger plants and trees in time for Christmas.

Isobel, Emily and Chris are all very excited about the new premises in Newick and have been leading a team of eager volunteers in clearing and converting the old chrysanthemum nursery into a pot plant haven. Following in the success of our Somerset Vines and Sussex grown cyclamen we are hoping to grow our own organic plants and also cut flowers by this time next year while continuing to supply quality exotic and unusual plants with that special ‘wow’ factor. From fitting thermal screens and irrigation systems, to computers and phones we have all been pretty busy but as we reach the final stages of the move there are so many exciting projects to look forward to…

See our current range of plants at www.plants4presents.co.uk and watch this space for pictures of the developing nursery.
